Dr. Navrotsky Receives Rossini Award Medal

Alexandra Navrotsky , Director of NEAT ORU at UC Davis, has been elected as the 2006 Rossini Awardee. "The Rossini Lectureship Award, which is made by the IACT, is given in recognition of a significant contribution to the field of thermodynamics." Dr. Navrotsky will deliver the Rossini Lecture at the next International Conference on Chemical Thermodynamics, the 19th ICCT, to be held in Boulder, Colorado.

It is my privilege and pleasure to let you know that the IACT Board have elected you as the 2006 Rossini Awardee. I congratulate you on behalf of IACT and on my name for a well deserved distinction.

You will have to deliver the Rossini Lecture at the next International Conference on Chemical Thermodynamics, the 19th ICCT, to be held in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Michael Frenkel, Designate Chairman of the Boulder meeting will contact you for more details. You will be asked also to prepare a paper to be published in both Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics and Journal of Pure and Applied Chemistry.

The Rossini Lectureship Award

The Rossini Lectureship Award, which is made by the IACT, is given in recognition of a significant contribution to the field of thermodynamics. It is presented every two years at the Biennial Conference, when the recipient delivers the Rossini Lecture. Nominations are accepted from any member of the IACT during a three-month period following a Biennial Conference for this award for the following Biennial Conference. The Award recipients are selected by the vote of the Board of Directors, as specified in the Bylaws of the Constitution, ARTICLE XI, Sections 3 and 4.
